ABOUT ME
My name is Julia Kowalczyk aka Kovalczyq.
I'm a young artist from Poland, in love with experimentation and working in many different art mediums. Welcome to my creative portfolio where I share my recent work.
I want to show my passion for painting, illustration, sculpture, animation, graphic design and mixed media. I draw inspiration from world around me, constantly exploring new ideas and techniques that would help me reflect my perspective.
My artistic journey includes a variety of experimental projects, freelance work, and participation in both personal and group exhibitions.
I've studied Illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, Netherlands and I'm currently studying Graphic art at The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland.
Recently I had the joy of organizing, creating artwork and curating for several exhibitions.
One notable project, "Odkleja," showcased during KRAKERS (Krakow Art Week)- represented the most fantastical and unrealistic thoughts we can imagine. Another exhibition, "(NIE)Przypadkowa wystawa" took place at the Open Eyes Art Festival, where we explored the intriguing nature of coincidences in our lives and their deeper meanings. Additionally, I curated a group exhibition at Raven Gallery in Krakow titled "Uczta dla nosa," which examined the captivating link between scent and memory, allowing attendees to experience unique fragrances that we've crafted for each artwork.
With a passion for creation and experimentation,
I am always open to participating in more collaborative work, projects, exhibitions, art residencies and exploring new ideas .
I find inspiration in observing the world and its people, listening in to conversations around and asking thought-provoking questions.
